Susan Bernstein
Throughout her career as a public-school music teacher, Judaic Studies educator, and Hebrew School Director, Susan has consistently viewed the joy of learning as central to her work. Her experience spans a wide range of ages—from preschoolers to seniors—and a variety of educational settings, both formal and informal. She has taught in diverse communities across the United States and in Israel, always bringing a deep commitment to nurturing curiosity, connection, and growth.
Susan believes strongly in the power of integrating music and Judaic learning, finding that each enriches the other in meaningful ways. This intersection has remained a core inspiration throughout her educational journey.
Now, Susan is thrilled to bring her love of teaching, learning, and Jewish life to the Columbus Jewish Day School. She is especially looking forward to building relationships with students, collaborating with fellow educators, partnering with families, and becoming an active part of the CJDS community.
